Description

Rounded tail shows white outer feathers; the male has a black head, white throat and red-brown eye ring; the plumage of the female is duller and also has a red eye ring.

Habitat

Undergrowth and scrubland.

Nest

Usually near the ground, in a bush; with plant material, finer lining.

Diet

Insects, berries and sometimes nectar.

Visitor during the months of:

April to September.
